These playing cards were supposedly printed in the 70s for the gaming tables, but never saw any 'real action'. They were immediately sold in the gift store thereafter. The classic Jerry's Nugget playing cards were made from top of the line US Playing Card Company card stock, that is not available today, which makes the cards much thicker. The U.S.P.C. also used a chemical finish then, which is also not available today - due to environmental reasons.

Jerry's Nugget playing cards were printed in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then were driven to the North Las Vegas casino via trucks where they sat in storage for many years. The highly prized playing card eventually sold out in the summer of 1999. Jerry's Nugget Casino does not have any plans to reprint them either.

Dai Vernon, Larry Jennings, Ed Marlo, Lee Asher, Frank Simon, Chris Kenner, Earl Nelson, Dan Buck, Dave Buck, Wayne Houchin, and many other notable magicians have been seen playing with Jerry's Nugget playing cards. The playing cards are stiff, hold their form, and are easily manipulated. Flourishers have taken a liking to these pasteboards as well.

I Personally Feel these are very overrated, they are thick and stiff which make them good for the Extreme Card Manipulators but that's about it.

it's rubbish to have to pay as much as the cost for a sub-par deck, they only really gained the 'prestige' after the buck twins featured them on their DVD

We have all seen Jerry Nuggets before, but not many of us own a deck. I am thankfully one of the people that own them. I bought them used on ebay for $70ish dollars which is about 1/2 the price of a normal deck on ebay.

A little history before the review. The deck was created in 1970 for the Jerry Nugget casino in las vegas. The deck sold for about 29 years at the price of 50¢ a deck. After the deck sold out the Buck twins used them in their DVD "The System". After that the price of them sky rocked to upwards of $400 per deck! In 2007 I think their was a scam of Jerry Nuggets on ebay where some person made fake Jerry Nuggets and sold them at $400 a deck. Almost immediately afterwards there was a rage of kids on youtube informing people about the scam. After that the price fell down to about $100-$200 per deck.

In 2009 magician Lee Asher sold some decks on his website. The prices varied from $50 to $150 per deck. Lee plans on doing it again later this month in March.

fans: I have heard from many people before I bought them they fan very bad, but I disagree. I think they fan well and as long as you keep them in good shape they should fan well.

stock: I thought they would have had large stock but I was wrong. They are jerry thin, but don't bend well for some reason.

design: I love simple designs like these. I got the blue deck and love it. The Ace of spades looks cool, but is not over the top like some decks that are made today.

Springs: They spring Ok not the best, no complaints though.
